As a part of our services we typically try to find a funny element to go along with the welcome. For the welcome last week we sent two of our staff members through the Field of Screams. They were great sports about it…and they screamed a lot. The video got a great reaction and I think that you will get a laugh out of it as well. Enjoy.
Do you love or hate getting scared?
It usually ends up making me laugh.
I’m with you Larry.
As I watched this on Sunday, I told my daughter that I thought this was not real given the bright lights from the film crew. Plus the two ladies were cussing like sailors on leave around every turn. Your saying this was real? Maybe I will then stay away from any haunted houses for like, ever.
Daniel, Steph actually loves it. She reacts that way every time and it’s ha-larious.
I avoid “haunted houses”, horror movies, TV commercials for horror movies, and anything else associated with trying to scare people. I dislike that stuff.
Some Guy, I hear ya. I could go either way. It doesn’t scare me but I don’t love it.
This is great. Must have been difficult to talk them into it.
Joe, it actually wasn’t. They were great sports. One of girls loves this type of thing. She screams like crazy but she loves it.
I’m not a big fan of being scared. It doesn’t make sense to me that it would be fun for people.
Jon, I hear ya. Did you think it’s funny to see people get scared?
I hate being scared. Life can be scary enough without manufacturing fearful situations.
Mim, I hear ya. Some people love it for whatever reason.
I don’t think it is fun to pay to have yourself scared on purpose. I dislike all things scary.
Teeny, I don’t picture you getting scared very easily.
I have to say, I dislike it. I would like to know what you think the most all time scary movie is? Please do not say Scary Movie! I would have to say The Shining. I seriouly cannot watch that movie, ever again. There is something about seeing two little girls at the end of a hall, that totally freaks me out.
Joseph, I don’t like horror movies. Most of them are just silly to me. The movies that I think are the most scary are movies that have realism to them. I thought seven and Misery were scary back in the day.
I hate it. It messes me up badly. I can’t watch any scary movie — it’ll get into my imagination and have me terrified for days afterwards. I made that mistake a couple times in the past, but now I’m careful to avoid scary movies. I even make a point to look away when ads for scary movies come on tv. (Sounds aren’t bad — it’s visuals that cause the problems.) There’s just no good reason to do that to myself.
As an example: a few years back a couple friends convinced me to watch Scream because they said it was as funny as it was scary. That’s probably true for people with high tolerance for such things, but it messed me up. At the time my room was in the basement, and for the next few days I had a hard time making it to my room at night. My heart was pounding like my life actually was in danger. I knew the movie was fake, but those visuals wouldn’t stay fake in my head.
A while back I tweeted this:
“‘The last 15 minutes will mess you up for life.’ If that makes you want to see a movie, you’re already messed up.”
The first sentence is from a Paranormal Activity 3 ad on tv. (The second is my own opinion, obviously.) My jaw dropped when I heard it because I knew there were people who would want to see the movie BECAUSE of that level of scariness. I don’t understand that kind of thinking at all. There are enough terrifying things that actually exist in this world that I don’t understand the attraction in intentionally scaring yourself with fake things. It almost seems like a form of mental illness. I say that not to make light of mental illness, but because that’s how screwed up it seems to me.
Having said all that…that video is hilarious. I can’t believe they agreed to do that!
Burrill, they were great sports. One of them had already been through this the week before. She went through with some of my friends and everyone laughed at how she reacted. She loves it. Her reaction spurred on the idea for this video.
Buahaahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah
ha.
Arny, reminds me of Matt Cannon’s post. Thanks for the comment.
those poor ladies!!
watching other people get scared = hilarious
me getting scared = part adrenaline rush (fun) part terror (not fun)
ThatGuyKC, I hear ya!
I love that we couldn’t even see what was scaring them so much, just that they were scared by obviously heinous things of the night. I personally love the thrill of a good scare, despite the jolt of initial unpleasantness. Adds to the spice of life.
TMZ, yeah we didn’t want to show them in case others got scared.
I watched the pilot episode for “Grimm” online last night. My 8 years old son watched a little of it with me. A couple of times he jumped and screamed LOUDLY when he got scared. It was hilarious.
Matt, that’s funny.
I completely agree with Burrill and Some Guy on hating all things scary.
Ricky, you? Nah? Your nerves are made of steel.
