There is a belief that divides our country. It’s a battle that pits family member versus family member. It’s a battle where lines are drawn, sides are taken, and in the end only one side wins the war. The North vs. The South: Who has the better food? I’m talking unsweet tea vs. sweet tea. I’m talking Philly Cheese steak vs. Pecan Pie. The battle begins now. You decide which part of the country has the better food. The North or the South?
tough call really. you also have other countries egging this on…really i love chinese food…so would that be West? If i had to choose, it would go south. corn on the cob, a just off the cow steak from TX, fresh key lime pie from Florida (which is the new North). oh yeah, it might hurt me…

Hmmm, I do not believe that I have strong preference here. Should I? Now I am growing concerned. What is freakin' wrong with me? Why cannot I not feel? Get your hands off me you darned dirty apes!
I prefer the great Mid-west where North meets South and there is an eclectic blend of foods from each region plus a few additional specialties like Kansas City barbecue, hash browns, homemade noodles, and apple dumplings.
Easy: NY Style Pizza, Chicago Style Pizza, New York Cheesecake, Philly Cheese Steak, Buffalo Wings, The Hot Dog, Scrapple, Bagels, Chowder, Fried Clams, Potato Knishes, Pierogies, Hershey's Chocolate, and Ice Cream…Of course there are more, but I don't have all day, and I certainly don't have access to those foods, so I'm going to stop before I get sad.
That's a tough one. I feel like I should be loyal to my roots and say South, but I don't think I could really choose one.
One of my favorite meals is a southern one. I love ham, collard greens with lots of salt, cornbread, sweet potatoes, and very sweet tea. Any type of pie will complete this meal! However, I'm not picky. I love food from all over the world!
In addition, hot dogs in a bun and ice cream in a cone also originated in the Midwest.
The majority of foods have a blended tradition, but if I'm going strictly on the origination of food, I'd go North. I feel like we've brought more to the table. Particularly in the seafood and non-traditional categories. If I had to pick a state it would be New York.
China would likely be considered the east. I'd probably take foreign food over American.
I just LOVE food. There are fabulous food from both the north and the South! It would be too hard to choose. Although, when I lived in Alabama, they served fried okra and fried squash in the school lunch line. It was pretty awesome! And I love going to the small Ma and Pop stores in Philly and getting pickles out of the HUGE barrels! This blog is making me hungry!
This is so weird. Anna was born in New England and even having a very Southern mom, she has some very Northern qualities. She doesn't like tea, sweet or unsweet. WHAT? How is that possible? She is the only person in the entire Montgomery/Gonzales/Hodges family that does not like tea and she's the only person not born in the south (or in Reed's case, CA).
After spending 4.5 years in the north, I'm going with the south!
